Study Mode vs Exam Mode

When to use each, and what changes.

Study Mode

The answer appears the moment you choose it, with the explanation underneath. Use it while you're learning — you find out immediately whether your reasoning held, which is when a correction actually sticks.

  • No timer. Deliberately: a clock counting up towards nothing only adds pressure to the mode built to be the opposite of an exam
  • Flag, take notes, highlight text and rule out answers as you go
  • Take a break at any point and resume later

Your time is still measured — Results shows total time and average per question. You simply aren't watched while you work.

A 35-year-old nulliparous on treatment for hyperprolactinemia for the past year. When wouldpituitary imaging be indicated?

AProlactin level is twice the normal
BPersistent galactorrhea
CBlurred vision
DPregnancy
ExplanationPersistent galactorrhea despite treatment suggests ongoing hyperprolactinemia or tumorprogression, warranting pituitary imaging to reassess for adenoma growth.

Exam Mode

No feedback until you submit. A countdown runs, and you can mark questions to come back to.

  • A clock, counting down, which turns amber and then red as it runs out
  • Move freely forwards, backwards or straight to any question
  • Change any answer before you submit
  • Full breakdown and review afterwards

Which to use

Study Mode to build knowledge, Exam Mode to test it. Most people spend the bulk of their preparation in Study Mode and shift to Exam Mode as the date approaches — pacing is its own skill, and it needs practising too.
